About us .

Research group in training in order to develop and apply pattern recognition techniques and parallel computation processing and image analysis, modeling of biological systems, eg, gene networks and RNAs non-coding, involving synthesis, identification and analysis. In particular, the main objectives are:

1) development and application of pattern recognition techniques for inference of gene networks from expression data, as well as the integration of other genomic data as proteins, processes and gene function, metabolic flux, cell location and topologies of gene networks ;

2) development programs and methods in bioinformatics applied to research RNAs non-coding, highlighting the structural analysis (secondary structure), prediction / annotation and creating new mechanisms for characterization of cRNA;

3) research, development and validation of methods and pattern recognition techniques such as selection / feature extraction, dimensionality reduction, among others, which are applied in the processing and analysis of images, content-based image retrieval and development of classifiers;

4) applying parallel computing in bioinformatics problems.
